Proud to Be Featured in Vogue Living and Proud of the Work Behind It

Being featured in Vogue Living is a big moment for us, and one we’re genuinely proud of. Seeing a home we worked on showcased in such a respected magazine is something we don’t take lightly. The photography is beautiful, the styling is spot on, and the vision of the interior architect and designer comes through clearly. They deserve the recognition they receive. At the same time, we felt it was worth sharing another part of the story. Not from a place of frustration, but simply to shine a light on the work that often happens behind the scenes. This is about craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the people who turn plans on a screen into real homes.

From Plans to a Finished Home

Every project starts with drawings and ideas, but at some point, those ideas need to be built.

This home was originally built in 1883, and like many houses of that age, it came with its challenges. Over time, structural movement had occurred. Floors were not perfectly level and nothing could be treated as standard.

Working in an older home like this requires experience, patience, and a strong understanding of how to adapt without compromising the final result.

Chevron Flooring in a 150-Year-Old House

Installing chevron timber flooring in a nearly 150-year-old home is no easy task. Every measurement matters and every adjustment needs to be considered carefully.

The goal was always to respect the character of the house while delivering a clean, refined finish. Achieving that took a sharp eye for detail, skilled hands, and a strong team effort.

We were proud to be chosen for this project and took that responsibility seriously from start to finish.

Challenges and Problem Solving

As with any complex renovation, there were challenges along the way. The home spans 3 storeys and includes a large central staircase, which added to the complexity of the job.

Nothing we faced was unfamiliar, but it still required care and coordination. Any issues that arose were addressed quickly and resolved within 2 weeks of handover, ensuring the end result met the standard we expect of our work.

A Staircase That Ties It All Together

One of the standout features of the home is the staircase.

It begins with a beautiful marble bottom step, which sets the tone as you enter the space. From there, the staircase flows seamlessly into timber flooring that matches the chevron floors throughout the home.

The transition feels natural and well considered. It is a detail that quietly brings the whole space together.

Giving Credit Where It’s Often Missed

Interior architects, designers, and stylists play a huge role in creating beautiful homes, and they deserve recognition. At the same time, trades are often overlooked, even though we are the ones physically bringing these designs to life.

Tradies don’t usually receive credits. Our work is lived on and walked over every day, but our names are rarely mentioned.

Being part of a Vogue Living feature is a milestone for us. It represents how far we’ve come as a team and as craftsmen who care deeply about quality.

Proud of the Work

This article is simply our way of acknowledging that moment.

We’re proud of the result, proud of our team, and proud to have been trusted with such a challenging and meaningful project. It’s also a nod to the many skilled trades who work hard behind the scenes without expecting recognition.

Great interiors aren’t just designed.
They’re built, with care, skill, and attention to detail.

And sometimes, it’s worth saying that out loud.
