Rectification

This Bellevue Hill project involved the complete rectification of a failed timber flooring system, where improper waterproofing had led to severe moisture damage and warping within just 18 months. With the property already subject to legal proceedings, the scope required a precise, compliant, and highly professional approach to fully rebuild the flooring from the ground up.

Tetris Timber Flooring carried out a full strip-out of the existing floor, removing damaged boards and compromised battens before grinding and preparing the substrate. A comprehensive moisture control system was then installed, including two coats of moisture barrier and dual layers of builder’s plastic, followed by new Tasmanian Oak battens to create a stable and compliant base.

The floor was finished with premium Grey Ironbark, expertly laid using secret and top nailing techniques, then sanded and polished to a high standard. Delivered in line with the requirements of the ATFA (Australian Timber Flooring Association), the project stands as a technically demanding yet successfully executed rectification, restoring both performance and visual quality.
